Description

Your knife didn’t show up to the kitchen to die in a drawer. It’s not a museum piece. It’s a tool. But even the best tools rust—especially high-carbon steel. That’s why this little grey block exists.

The Sabitoru MS-47 is Japan’s answer to surface rust. It’s a fine grit #320 rubberized abrasive block that acts like a pencil eraser—only instead of fixing math mistakes, it fixes your neglect.

Rub it dry, use it wet, or team it up with a bit of dish soap for stubborn spots. Safe for knives, respectful of patina, and just rough enough to knock rust down without grinding your edge into the Stone Age.

Used by pros in Japan. Now sitting on your counter. (Or should be.)

Works great on:

  • High-carbon Japanese kitchen knives

  • Collector blades you pretend aren’t sharp enough to use

  • Rusty spots on your sink, bike, or your conscience

Proudly Made in Japan. No nonsense. No rust.

Works really well on light rust and patina. Took a bit more time on a deeper oxidation spot, but still cleaned it without damaging the blade. Worth having in your knife care kit.

  2. Brian K

This is the same kind of rust eraser we used in culinary school — reliable and safe on high-carbon blades. Great for restoring the surface and removing light scratches too.

  3. Lucas M

I used the Japanese Rust Eraser #320 on my Aogami steel Bunka and it wiped off the surface rust in seconds. Didn’t scratch the blade and restored the finish beautifully. A must-have for anyone using carbon steel knives.

  4. Rachel W

Great maintenance tool. I keep my knives dry, but sometimes life happens. The Sabitoru MS-47 cleaned up a small rust spot on my Funayuki like it was nothing. Gentle but effective — exactly what you want for high-end Japanese steel.

  5. Megan D

Excellent little maintenance tool. Works on knives, tools, even my carbon steel pan. The #320 grit is aggressive enough to remove rust but gentle enough not to strip the finish.
